Oshtemo Township Park

Oshtemo Township selected OCBA to develop master plans for both Township parks – Flesher Field and Oshtemo Township Park. OCBA used a participatory process that included design charrettes for the parks. Priorities and phasing of improvements were identified, and opinions of probable costs for the proposed improvements were prepared to assist with determining priorities and operational budget needs.

The improvements proposed for Township Park received a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant in 2010. Improvements included the following:

  • Picnic shelters

  • Play area

  • Parking lot improvements

  • Restroom building

  • Basketball court

  • Paved loop trail and improvements to existing trails

  • Improvements to existing disc golf course

The Township worked with OCBA to develop construction documents and administer the construction contract while the improvements were being built. Slocum Architects provided architectural services for design of the restroom building.

OCBA also provided construction administration services for the second phase of improvements at Flesher Field Park, which were also funded through the MNRTF.
